Having a Short Slate Mentality

By: Keith Hall on August 13, 2015

Have you had one of those nights that when building your team you just weren’t confident in anything at all.  You kind of liked one side but kind of liked the other, but never loved any of them?  Most of the time that happens to me when we have a short slate.  I’m talking 5 games or fewer.  Typically this happens to us on Thursday’s as teams are traveling for their weekend series.  The bad part about it is usually, those are when I have my most profitable nights.  I’ve learned to approach short slates differently for MLB than I… Read More »

Wednesday MLB FanDuel & DraftKings

By: Keith Hall on August 12, 2015

First, I would like to take this moment to apologize for all the technical difficulties I have been having over the last 4 days, I’m working as best as I can to get it fixed as soon as I can.  So since my laptop doesn’t seem to want to work well enough today to record a video, or anything else, I am currently writing this on my iPad. Now that I have let you know that electronics hate me this week, it’s time to get to some information that you can actually put to use for tonight’s MLB schedule.  This… Read More »

Advanced Metric Dashboard

By: Keith Hall on August 5, 2015

Earlier this year, I shared with you my routine on how I go about a typical day in MLB research, how to select the games I choose to be in for that particular night, and how I piece together lineups using the projections tool. You have heard me either in the articles, or on the podcast, talk about different statistics like wOBA, ISO, and BABIP.  Each one of these stats holds a different weight to me as far as building lineups. One of the first questions new players ask when coming into DFS is what is the difference was between… Read More »

Pick of the Litter FanDuel & DraftKings

By: Keith Hall on June 24, 2015

Hope everyone is enjoying the early slate of games.  There are only 10 games tonight, so the ownership percentages will be a little higher on some players than where they normally are with a full schedule of games.  This is one thing to always keep in mind when building lineups, especially for tournaments.  Looking at the pitching match ups tonight there isn’t a lot to be too excited about.  Vegas has the Colorado game at 11, so when building your teams, like every night when Coors is in play, you need to make sure to have some exposure.  There are… Read More »

Time to Pay Up!

By: Keith Hall on June 23, 2015

One of the most interesting terms is DFS is to be “contrarian.”  The funny thing about being contrarian is that most people tend to think that means finding value where others are not.  That is one way to separate yourself from the crowd and achieve the goal of getting a unique lineup to gain an edge in GPP’s.  One of the top players in the industry has a saying, “I don’t play players that suck!”  Scraping the bottom of the barrel to find value to fit in some of the larger named players on the slate isn’t easy to do… Read More »

Can’t Get Right – FanDuel & DraftKings

By: Keith Hall on June 19, 2015

One of the things I love the most about MLB DFS is the “grind.”  Day in and day out, your decision making process can be tested based on the previous nights outcome.  Have a couple good nights in a row, and a player might start to deviate from their process thinking that it’s easy.  Have a couple bad nights in a row, they might alter what has worked for them in the past and totally revamp how they do things, which could end up leading into a bigger slump.  I know DFS players that don’t sweat the games at all.… Read More »

Lineup Overview & Optimal Lineup Creation

By: Keith Hall on June 18, 2015

Good Afternoon! Hope everyone is enjoying the thoughts I’m bringing to you and above all, learning some things and making some money! The purpose of today, with a split slate, is to take you through some of my thought process on a daily basis building my cash game lineups.  I like to play double ups and Head-2-Head games a lot.  Depending on the games and the match ups I take different strategies.  I feel it helps build your bankroll and supplement your GPP money allocation.  If I had to start over from day one again in my DFS career, I… Read More »

Taking A Stand – FanDuel & DraftKings

So my Grandfather is my hero.  He’s not anyone special to anyone else other than to his family and friends.  I couldn’t even tell you if he’s anyone else’s hero or not, but he is mine.  He served in the Air Force in Vietnam, he’s worked hard to support his wife and family, and been there for me through every moment in my life.  To be quite honest, he’s more of a brother than a grandpa.  Both of us have the deep and passionate love for 2 things above anything else.  Our wives, and baseball.  From the time I was… Read More »
