  • Anthony Lisica

    How do I log on?

    • spreadsheetsports

You should be able to get the download link on http://www.spreadsheet-sports.com/nfl-update. Since you purchased the DraftKings package – you can click on “Already Purchased” under DraftKings and enter the credentials you used when you signed up. The page will refresh and you should see the links towards the bottom of the page to download the spreadsheet

  • Ken Penland

I ordered the mlb spreadsheet for Fanduel. I am trying to download the lineup but am getting an error. Any ideas? I am using windows XP and excel 7.

    • spreadsheetsports

Ken – please email me (bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com) and send me a screenshot or the text of the error message you’re getting.

  • barry

Hi i tried sending email about a problem loading the spreadsheet on a mac but it says not valid email

  • Brandon Denton

Just purchased the NFL spreadsheet. When I hit Run Model, it pops up “Compile Error: Can’t Find Project or Library.” Any ideas on what I need to do?

    • spreadsheetsports

The compile error happens when you don’t have the free plugin Solver installed. It’s covered in the User Guide here: https://www.spreadsheetsports.com/support/nfl-projection-tool-user-guide/

You can also just follow the instructions from Microsoft here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/load-the-solver-add-in-HP010021570.aspx

If you’re running Excel for Mac you should have to worry about installing, but you will need to complete this extra step:

      1. Click on Tools > Hover over Macros and choose VBA Editor
      2. Then click on Tools again and choose References
      3. When the reference box opens up you want to make sure the box next to “Missing Solver.XLAM” is unchecked and “Solver” is checked.

You may also want to shut down Excel completely and restart for the Solver installation to take effect. Let me know if you still run into issues.

  • Greg

Any way to incorporate a drop down to exclude teams? Looking for a quick way to exclude the noon games to play 4PM only or Late on FD.

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – it’s something I could look into adding. I’ll see what I can do for next week.

  • Dericko Wamo

It is suppose to automatically update the player prizes or am i to do it manually. If manually what’s and easier way to do it.

    • spreadsheetsports

A new sheet will be uploaded every week late on Tuesday night. It takes some time for the aggregate rankings to come in that get used in the tool.

  • GaryT

Hi. I just signed up at fanduel through your links and I was wondering how long it takes to get my subscription for the spreadsheets?

  • C Baker

I cannot get the solver plugin to work on my Mac. I go to tools and hover over Macros but no VBA Editor shows up???

    • spreadsheetsports

Are you using either Excel for Mac 2011 or Excel for Mac 2008? You need one of those two versions of Excel. You can also go into Excel Options and make sure you have Macros enabled. If that doesn’t work can you email me a screenshot of what you’re seeing? When you click on “Run Model” do you get an error. Email is bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

  • C Baker

    using mac xcel 2008

    • spreadsheetsports

See if this discussion will help: http://www.solver.com/solver-2008-mac. You can simply use the Solver add-in (from the Tools drop-down select Solver and hit Solve when the dialog box appears) instead of the “Run Model” button on the sheet. Email me with what you’re seeing as an error message and if nothing will work I can grant you a refund.

  • DJ

I purchased the Fanduel projection tool yesterday and the “run model” just gives me an error message. I downloaded the solver add-in and when the solver results come up, I click OK for “keep solver solution”, then another error message pops up. It’s Microsoft Visual Basic, run-time error ’53’: File not found: Solver32.dll

What is the fix for this? I’m on a PC and using Excel 2010.

    • spreadsheetsports

If you’ve already installed the Solver plugin then my guess is that you need to shut down Excel and open the tool up again. Sometimes Excel has to shut down for the new components to take effect. If not let me know.

      • DJ

I tried that and get the same error message. Can you send me the lasted version of this projection tool via email? I noticed the one I downloaded has a yellow exclamation point on the icon as if the file is corrupted or something.

      • DJ

Also, The info in this tool is from last week. How do I get the new info?

  • Tow. Untouchable

Is the NBA DraftKings Solver set up properly?
Its going over the $50,000 salary and not selcting a Center

  • Tow. Untouchable

Nevermind, I guess I needed to click run model

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – you always have to hit the Run Model button when you make any change. Also – be sure to change the “Fantasy Site” setting in the top left settings box on the Adjustment Selection tab

  • Matt McDaniel

Is there any way to get the draftkings salaries to show in the adjustment selection screen to view them there? Changed from fanduel to draftkings but the salaries don’t change.

    • spreadsheetsports

Not in that first column for salary, but further to the right (towards the end) there is a column for “Site Specific Salary.” That changes when you toggle the Fantasy Site setting.

  • Andrew pytlewski

I just purchased and fanduel solver is getting an error, any suggestions?

I’ve emailed several times asking how to upload the latest Fanduel projection tool. What does it take to get a response???????? I’ve paid for the season and you site says we get an updated tool each week. Where is it???

    • spreadsheetsports

DJ – sorry for the frustration. You must have been sending the email to the wrong account because I haven’t seen anything from you.

It looks like you purchased through The Fake Football. If so, your download page is here – https://www.spreadsheetsports.com/fakefootball/download/

Check out the FAQ page for instructions – https://www.spreadsheetsports.com/fakefootball/faq/

      • DJ

What do you mean the “Fake football”?

        • spreadsheetsports

The version you purchased was through the link on http://www.thefakefootball.com. The page I posted above contains all of the information about downloading the tool each week for that specific version.

          • DJ

Got, how do I adjust it to exclude the Thursday night games?

          • spreadsheetsports

You’ll need to put the team abbreviations in the Exclude list on the Manual Adjustments tab. Make sure they’re the same as the abbreviations on the Projections tab.

          • DJ

            Thanks

  • DJ

I purchased the NBA projection tool and Kevin Martin came up on the optimal line up, but he’s out. How do you remove him? Also, how can I get an accurate sheet with all injured players set aside?

    • spreadsheetsports

You can add him to the Exclude List on the Minute Changes and Hunches tab. The injury data is coming directly from the web and gets updated every night with the sheet. Kevin Martin may have been one that was missed. Injuries can be difficult to track in the NBA because some don’t get announced until just before game time. I’m working on making the injury section an on-demand refresh so you’ll have up to the second data with the source that’s used.

      • DJ

        Thanks

  • Moonlite Coconuts

Is Perry Jones III missing from the database?

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – there are a few name issues that I’ll be correcting this weekend that are due to name differences between multiple sources (i.e. Perry Jones and Perry Jones III)

      • Moonlite Coconuts

Thanks! didn’t matter on Perry the first night and no one could have predicted him going off against the Clippers so wouldn’t have mattered the second night.

Great job this year on the spreadsheets!!

  • JCT2011

There are errors with the Fanduel Week 10 Optimal Lineup. For TE and D it just has #N/A and the total salary is $6,300 over cap. It appears the reason, even the extras do not show up in the lineup, is the summary says there are 2 QBs (And to the left two are marked with a 1, Aaron Rodgers AND Ryan Tannehill) and 3 RBs (Lynch, Hillman, and Ingram). So the extra QB (Tannehill) and RB (Ingram) took the place of what should have been a TE and D and blew the cap… I tried to debug it and get it to select a TE and D, but I keep getting errors about the library not being found.

    • spreadsheetsports

It’s covered in the User Guide here: https://www.spreadsheetsports.com/support/nfl-projection-tool-user-guide/

  • Andres Arredondo

I bought the nba projection tool and after the initial download I can’t get sign back on it says buy after I login. Instead of cancel out and allow me to pick the updated tool.

  • Southpaw1975

Is anyone having any luck with the nba projection tool, I have been losing my ass since the season started…….

  • Southpaw1975

Bryan……..whats up with these nba projections……i am getting projected scores of around 300 give or take for fanduel and i am lucky to break 200 on a lot of the contests I am entering……this is going on night after night…….am I not doing something right or is this tool not very good…….i have also purchased the nfl and mlb projection tool and they both worked pretty well……

    • Andres Arredondo

I got my ass kicked today!!!! Didn’t even get 200 points!!! Idk what to do!

    • spreadsheetsports

      Couple of things…

The main issue is that the tool is built upon in-season data to determine averages and make projections. Currently, each team has only played 5-6 games. That’s not a lot of information to work with yet, but as the season moves along you’ll see projections get a lot tighter. I’m also working on a few improvements that will allow you to factor in pre-season projections and prior season data if you choose.

The tool is not a magic bullet. DFS is a difficult game. The out-of-the-box projections are not guaranteed to get you contest winning lineups all the time. The tool is really designed to give you a framework to tweak different settings, adjust projections, and factor in changes due to injury. All of that functionality is built in to the tool, but it’s not going to do everything for you automatically. You still have to put in some research to make those adjustments.

I hope that helps clear things up a bit. I’m working hard to add in some new features so I do anticipate things improving significantly in the next couple of weeks.

      • Fantasy Gumshoe

So I’ve used the tool for a few nights now. I too have been getting worked, and I admit I’ve taken a cookie-cutter approach. However I went back and back-tested by changing around the settings and weights. The best I was able to get in terms of projections vs. actuals was opponent – 3, location – 1, rest – 1, betting total – 3, using last 5 games. Obviously the sample size is small, but playing around with the sliders all scenarios still has had the optimal lineup losing in all of the cash games/ 50/50s I entered.

One thing I noticed: in all scenarios I recreated and back-tested, the optimal lineup always has a strong tendency to take a starts and scrubs approach. with at least $3,000/ minimum salary players. These players in the tool have screaming high value scores due to what appears to be very high projections coupled with the low salary. The problem is that these players are not hitting.

Can you shed some light on the tendency of the algorithm? It would appear that the tool is attempting to set a GPP type LU at all times and isn’t taking into account a cash game type lineup with less risk involved, and there aren’t options to ask the tool to build/ look for players in the mid to high-mid range across the board.

Especially with the DraftKings version – the only thing that gets updated is the customized projections tab and site specific salaries, so even when I enter exception/ injury players they’re taken out of the adustment Selection tab, however, they still appear in the DraftKings Solver tab. Thus, even though I’ve entered them in the minute change and hunches tab, that’s not taken into account for the optimal lineup. So basically, with the DraftKings version I’m too look at the customized tab only and can’t be given a true optimized lineup unless there happen to be no exception type players. Unless I’m missing something, the DraftKings version is essentially a NBA Projections Tool “Lite” but at the same price point as the FanDuel Version.

So in a nutshell, will there be 1) an update made soon to injest the injury data more real-time vs the once a day to mitigate the need for more manual “tinkering.” 2) A way to solve for the ability to tell the tool whether you want to build a “stars and scrubs” or a “Safe cash lineup.” 3) A way for the Optimal Linueup tool to feed from the Customized Projection and site specific salary columns which also takes into account the minutes adjustment and players that will not play data thats entered into that tab? Without these addressed, DraftKing spreadsheet subscribers really don’t gain any benefit from this tool as we can obtain the DraftKings projections you offer via the “All Daily Fantasy Site Projections” below.

        https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuC7ACqWvsLudFJYM0FvaEZjSVZEcGpqQ19nYWg5MGc&usp=drive_web#gid=0

I apologize for being long-winded, but I wanted to share my initial feedback and get your thoughts on these items. It’s an amazing tool, but unless I’m missing the boat the above items are what have consistently. helped me crap the bed so far. Well, that and the fact that I’m a fish in water as a Noob and looking to depend on a tool such as this to help guide me while I learn me something.

        Thanks.

        • spreadsheetsports

The DraftKings version has all of the same functionality as the main tool. When you enter in a player in the Minutes Change or Hunch Adjustment sections – that’s getting taken into account in the Customized Projection column. That value is being used as the new projection when the Solver tab finds an optimal lineup. You should see that Customized Projection change across all sheets when you make an adjustment.

I’d be interested to see the kinds of lineups that you’re getting that are slanted towards stars and scrubs. When I run the default settings and get an optimal lineup – that’s not the case for me. It appears to be fairly balanced and probably more like a 50/50 lineup in my opinion.

For example a lineup today of:

          Chris Paul

          Pau Gasol

          Tyreke Evans

          Greg Monroe

          Jimmy Butler

          Kawhi Leonard

          Kyle Anderson

          Samuel Dalembert

Kyle Anderson is the one guy that sticks out. The reason he’s there is because he played 1 game and scored 23 fantasy points. He played 31 minutes that game, but then hasn’t played much since. The tool doesn’t know whether to expect him to play 31 minutes again or if he’s going to play 0 the next game. After a few games of 0 minutes in a row – he’ll be back down to a much lower projection. But you can easily remove him if you know that he’s not going to get minutes.

Some of the work I’m doing to improve the tool will help automate this a bit better. That’s coming soon, but there’s a lot of fine-tuning that needs to be done before that’s fully ready.

  • steven azizi

Hey I purchased the tool, but when i try to sign in to tiny pass I’m asked to pay once again after I’ve already purchased, barring me from getting to the download link

    • spreadsheetsports

Try this: To enable Solver, click ‘Tools’ then ‘Addins’. Within the Addin box, check ‘Solver.xlam’ then hit ‘OK’
You can also read through the instructions here: om/welcome-mac-users-solver-now-included-excel-2011. Let me know if that works for you. The other steps for Mac (I’m not sure if these are the ones you’ve already completed) are:

      1. Click on Tools > Hover over Macros and choose VBA Editor
      2. Then click on Tools again and choose References
      3. When the reference box opens up you want to make sure the box next to “Missing Solver.XLAM” is unchecked and “Solver” is checked.

    the updated NBA…is it right??

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – please let me know what issues you’re seeing. The Vegas betting data is unavailable today, but will be back in the tool tomorrow. Also, the Knicks and Nuggets are playing an early game – they may not be included in the main contests tonight.

      • Help

I see afflalo on my line up

When will week 12 be available? ALso where do I go to download the week 12 Draftkings projection tool?

  • An aspiring maestro

Hey man, I’m having problems figuring out how to download the daily spreadsheet – when I log on to tinypass it tries to charge me again (I bought the season Fanduel NBA spreadsheet yesterday). Any chance you know what I’m doing wrong?

My email associated to it is nrpublic09@gmail.com.

    Thanks!

  • Gary

Is there a way you can switch me from the DK version of NBA to the FD version?

  • JASON

why can’t I open this on my phone?

    • spreadsheetsports

The spreadsheet requires the full version of Microsoft Excel on a desktop

  • Paul

I’m trying to manually exclude teams but I must be doing something wrong. Do i just enter the team name under the Exclude Team column?

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – but use the team abbreviation. As it appears on the Projections tab (for NFL) or Adjustment Selection tab (for NBA).

      • Paul

        got it thanks

  • Greg Alexander

    Brian

Whats up with Damian Lillard tonight? The spreadsheet continues to include him no matter what I do. I changed his projections to reflect a blow out in Philly. The last solver included him and its total dollar value was over the 60K limit.

    • spreadsheetsports

I’m not seeing any issue. If I adjust Lillard down 10 points (from the Hunches section) then he drops out of the Optimal Lineup and Irving and Wroten were selected (with no other adjustments). I assume you’re hitting the Run Model again? It sounds like you might not have Solver working correctly if it’s giving you a lineup over the salary limit. Maybe try downloading a fresh sheet and running through it again.

  • Greg Alexander

    Brian

Spreadsheet isn’t usable tonight. It keeps listing Jamal Crawford even though I reduced his projections and even put him on the not playing list.

    • spreadsheetsports

I think you may have an issue with your installation of Excel. I’m not seeing any of these issues. Email me what you have and I’ll take a look.

  • Southpaw1975

wtf…………..i thought these projections were going to get alot tighter as the season went on……wow, how much of the season before they are even anywhere close……i have tried many different approaches and 8 out of 10 arent with in 60-80 points of the projected…….even with your default setting not messing with anything……..i mean tonight for example with the default settings 290 projected and 216 was the fanduel total point…i understand dfs is difficult and this spreadsheet of yours is not a magic bullet but this nba tool is nowhere near as helpful as the mlb or the nfl………hope some others that have purchased this tool are having some success…….time for me to hang it up

    • spreadsheetsports

Are there certain projections that seem off to you? There are always going to be players each night that don’t hit their projection so if you have a few of those players in your lineup it’s not going to score very high. On the other hand – there will be guys who outscore their projections. Let me know what feedback you have on specific players and I’ll take a look to see what kinds of improvements I can make.

  • Chas Quisenberry

Hi, I signed up for Fan Duel and put $25 in then picked NBA FD and it told me that I would be sent access, Haven’t Gotten an email yet, just wondering how long it will take to get it

    • spreadsheetsports

Just sent you an email…sorry for the delay

  • Talibanned

Bryan great sheet you designed, I use it for NFL and I’ve been getting decent results. One thing that confuses me is each time I want to open the sheet I’m not sure how to go about it. Is there an URL i’m supposed to use? In the past I’ve gained access by cutting the previous weeks game number in the URL and then replacing it with the current week number. What should I be doing?

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes you need to download the new version each week. The main URL should be http://www.spreadsheet-sports.com/nfl-update. Click Already Purchased at the level you bought. If you send me an email with your email address I’ll let you know exactly what package you have access to. (bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com)

  • andrewm1972

I just purchased the NBA Tool. On the Solver Tab, is there a faster way to search for players besides scrolling? Seems like Ctrl+F does not yield results.

    • spreadsheetsports

CTRL+F should work but change the Options to Values (not formulas)

      • andrewm1972

        Thanks buddy.

  • Chas Quisenberry

Quick Question, now when I download the daily spreadsheet, and make my personal adjustments, then hit Run Model… It keeps doing this..

    • spreadsheetsports

      1. Click on Tools > Hover over Macros and choose VBA Editor
      2. Then click on Tools again and choose References
      3. When the reference box opens up you want to make sure the box next to “Missing Solver.XLAM” is unchecked and “Solver” is checked.

      • andrewm1972

I get the same error using Office 2007 and 2013. In References, there is no option for ‘Missing Solver.xlam’

  • Chas Quisenberry

    I also get this aswell…

  • Andrew

I was charged for the one month basketball tool two separate times this week, how can I get a refund for one of the charges?

    • Andrew

It charged me for Draft Kings but I don’t have an account, I only use Fanduel.

      • spreadsheetsports

Please email me (bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com) with the email address you used for your purchase.

  • Richard Paulino

I’m thinking bout purchasing the NBA projection tool. Can it generate multiple lineups. For example:press ‘run model’ optimal lineup 1, press run model again – optimal lineup 2, press again – optimal lineup 3, etc…
    Thanks.

    • spreadsheetsports

It can’t produce multiple lineups by simply running it again and again with the same settings. You can, however, make changes (adjust minutes, exclude a player, add points to a given player, etc) and have the model generate an additional lineup. I typically let it run a lineup and then if there’s a player or two that I don’t like that it recommends i Exclude those players and run it through again. I also use it to make sure I diversify my lineups by excluding players that I have in my main lineup for subsequent lineups so that I know it’s going to give me different players. You just have to make those minor changes in between each time you want to get a new lineup

  • BSchr

Hi Bryan. NBA spreadsheet question. If a player you have listed as injured is playing, how do I remove them from the injured list and have their projections show up?
    thanks.

    • spreadsheetsports

Just delete their name from the “Players Who Will Not Play” list on the Minutes and Hunches tab

  • BSchr

There are a couple guys that are showing zeros that are not listed on the injury tab & cannot be removed from “Players Who Will Not Play” list on the Minutes and Hunches tab- Brad Beal / Louis Williams. is there a reason for this? thanks,

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – it’s an issue with their name being listed differently on FD vs DK. This is being fixed in the new version which will be available starting Monday.

  • Jason

When will the NBA Spreadsheet be posted today?

    • spreadsheetsports

It’s been posted since this morning. Are you not seeing it?

  • Gary Rutherford

Is the NBA SS up today?

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – the week of 1/5 sheet posted yesterday can be used for the rest of the week. Just hit the Refresh Data button on the Today’s Game Refresh tab.

      • Gary Rutherford

OK, very cool…now I’m (finally) catching on! Appreciate it.

      • Luke Baldridge

I hit the refresh data button and it refreshed. I then went to the draftkings solver tab and it gave me a lineup who’s salary added up to over 70k. I hit the solve button and it took me to a debug page?

  • Will

spreadsheet is giving crazy high projections some players, how do i fix it? for instance wall is projected to get 211.

    • spreadsheetsports

There’s any error in the datasource I use for vegas lines. It looks like it should have been entered as 193.5 for the BRK-WAS game, but 1903.5 was entered. I will add a safeguard for this now that I see what kind of an issue it can but, but the solution for today is the following:

      1. Go to the tab labeled Schedule
      2. In cells I1180 and I1181 change the value 1903.5 to 193.5

This should get everything in order. If you try to run the refresh again the error will return (because that’s the way the data is stored on the web). You’ll need to correct it again.
You may also get an error on the Schedule tab. If that happens right click in cell A1 of that tab and choose Refresh before running the full refresh again.

  • MacDaddyJ

Having trouble with the NBA Fantasy Basketball Projection Tool for some reason. It leaves errors on the first 4 lines after I refresh the data on the “Today’s Games Refresh” tab. (#REF!) I think this is effecting the Fanduel Optimal Lineup tab when I click the “Find Optimal Lineup” button. Any help will be appreciated.

    • spreadsheetsports

Have you made sure to download the latest copy? That was an issue that occurred about 2 weeks ago, but it has since been fixed. If that’s not the issue – please send me a copy of your sheet so I can take a look (bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com)

      • MacDaddyJ

        Hi Bryan,
I logged in to try to download the latest copy but couldn’t get it for some reason. I’ll send you my sheet. It will be coming from: jwmccarty@hotmail.com. Or you can look me up on twitter @FingazInc. I’m currently following you but couldn’t send a DM. I’ll look to see if I can get the download and let you know if I’m successful. Thanks for the reply.

I signed up and paid for a month of NBA Fan Duel a few days ago. How in the heck to I get back to the functional spreadsheet? Thanks.

The tool hasn’t been fully updated for games after the All-Star break. Typically, everything is updated the night before games start so that all of the vegas odds are included. We don’t have that yet for Thursday so it’s not going to give you full results if you try to use it now. It should be loaded by early Wednesday.

  • David Ciolfi

Where do I go just to sign in and download an updated data sheet. Also I start with FD but overtime I do an Optimal line up, its DK……whats up

    • spreadsheetsports

You download the new sheet here: https://www.spreadsheetsports.com/nba-update/ and sign in at the package that you purchased. I looked yours up and it appears you purchased the FanDuel package so sign in under FanDuel for $29.99. I’m not sure what you mean by it’s running as DK

  • David Ciolfi

OK, I am getting closer. Now when I have the spreadsheet on my screen, when I hit MACROS is has DK highlighted. When I highlight FD and hit run…….here is the error message “Can’t execute in break mode”. What do I do?

    • spreadsheetsports

David – what I would recommend is saving the file to a location on your computer (desktop, etc) when you download from the web instead of clicking Open immediately. Then open Excel on it’s own and do a File > Open from inside Excel to get to your file. You’ll want to enable Macros if it gives you a notification and also External Data Connections. Then you should be able to run everything. If you run into a problem please send me an email and include a screenshot and details on how you got to the error if you can.

  • kkc1212

Struggling with getting my spreadsheet to produce anything except for raptors/maverick players for optimal lineup on DK. My spreadsheet also has an error after both generating optimal lineup and trying to get the new data for the day. Im on a Mac and using excel 2011. Do I need a plug in?

    • spreadsheetsports

If you’re getting a runtime error on a Mac after the optimal lineup has been created – that’s just a false alarm error message that occurs sometimes on Mac. Everything has run fine and you can hit end. My guess is that you haven’t run the refresh though so the only players available are teams that also played yesterday (Raptors and Mavericks). You need to make sure you allow Macros to run and you’re connected to the internet. If you still can’t get it – send me a screenshot of the error you’re seeing on the refresh (bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com)

  • kkc1212

Not allowing me to run lineups. and when i go to macros to make sure solver is on it has the references option greyed out to where i can click on it. I also have downloaded this weeks file, i don’t know what else to call it, still using last weeks but all the data is loaded and correct for players and team matchups. Is that my problem?

    • kkc1212

I downloaded the new file for this week but the same issue is happening, not allowing me to run my lineups and i unchecked the missing.solver but the solver option never came up to check under references and now its not letting me get into the references folder again. sorry to bother you

      • spreadsheetsports

If you’re running Excel for Mac you shouldn’t have to worry about installing, but you will need to complete this extra step:

        1. Click on Tools > Hover over Macros and choose VBA Editor
        2. Then click on Tools again and choose References
        3. When the reference box opens up you want to make sure the box next to “Missing Solver.XLAM” is unchecked and “Solver” is checked.

If you don’t see Solver in that list to check please follow the instructions on this page: http://www.solver.com/welcome-mac-users-solver-now-included-excel-2011

        • kkc1212

i got it to work. thanks for the quick reply the troubleshooting tips just weren’t giving me a step around what my comp was doing. i got it now thanks

  • Calvin Buchanan

Where can i download the pricing and scores for Fanduel for the entire NBA season. Thanks, I need them for some research I’m doing.

  • Ima Bettyr

any plans for college basketball and football service?

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes and yes. The data is a bit more difficult to obtain which is why I haven’t offered anything for college sports yet, but I should have a tool ready to go for college football season and then next college basketball season.

  • Joshua Sohl

This spreadsheet has worked wonders so far. Tonight, for some reason it is only taking a few games into account for the optimal lineup. I have done the exact same thing every night I have used it Please help. Ive run the refresh several times and all the games have the number one beside them and are green On the optimal lineup page there are spaces between a lot of the players names that also has never happened before Westbrook wont even come up into the lineup after I have put him as a guantee

    • spreadsheetsports

My guess is that you haven’t downloaded the latest version from the site. I upload a new file every Monday so you’ll want to grab that. Each month I make a few changes that disable the old sheets so if you don’t have the latest it won’t be fully functional

  • Eric W

My spreadsheet isn’t working properly. I downloaded the spreadsheet and opened it in Excel on Mac. Its the Excel 2011 version. I tried to follow the Tips instructions but they didn’t make sense to me. My Excel doest have the Solver.xlam plugin and I don’t know where to install it. I tried to update my Excel but even with the update it still didn’t work. Can you please help?

    • spreadsheetsports

Here are the instructions from the company that created the Solver plugin:

Starting with Excel 2011 Service Pack 1 (Version 14.1.0), Solver is once again bundled with Microsoft Excel for Mac. You do not have to download and install Solver from this page — simply ensure that you have the latest update of Excel 2011 (use Help – Check for Updates on the Excel menu).

To enable Solver, click ‘Tools’ then ‘Addins’. Within the Addin box, check ‘Solver.xlam’ then hit ‘OK’.

To get it to work with the Projection Tool spreadsheet you’ll need to follow these steps:

      1. Click on Tools > Hover over Macros and choose VBA Editor

      2. Then click on Tools again and choose References

      3. When the reference box opens up you want to make sure the box next to “Missing Solver.XLAM” is unchecked and “Solver” is checked.

Let me know if that works. You can email me directly bryan (at) spreadsheet-sports dot com

Am I crazy or is Harden’s name missing from ‘Matchup History?”

    • spreadsheetsports

He’s there – line 194 on the Matchup History tab

  • PunkyTRizz

Are all players listed in ‘Matchup History?” Example; I don’t see James Harden?

  • dfs.tv

Will these work on google spreadsheets? Thanks,

    • spreadsheetsports

Unfortunately, no, it requires the full version of Microsoft Excel. We’re looking into ways to convert it to Google spreadsheets, but there are some major limitations there that we haven’t found workarounds for yet.

  • johnnymiguel17

I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong, the spreadsheet always seems to give me crazy recommendations like Ish Smith for 50+ points and Jeremy Grant (who does not even play) for 23 points. The base projection settings are 10 game avg .4 / ceiling .1; season avg .3 / ceiling .2

    • spreadsheetsports

When you use different settings from the default and start factoring ceiling projections there’s always going to be a few outliers that look “off” based on the stats. Ish Smith has scored significantly more points over his last 10 games than his season average so that bumps him up. Make sure you have the regression level set to something greater than 1 if the adjustments are throwing off the values for some of the lesser used players. The standard settings have him projected for about 27 points though which is fairly reasonable considering he’s scored at least 20 in all of his last 10 games.

Jeremi Grant started last game for the 76ers and plays around 20 minutes a night. 23 FD points might be a bit high for him, but the standard settings have him lower.

Play around with the settings that work best for you. If you see anyone that looks off – you can adjust them down or exclude them. That’s what I would recommend.

      • johnnymiguel17

Sorry, I meant Jeremy Evans. Thanks for the reply. I’ll keep playing with the setting and see what I can make work.

        • spreadsheetsports

So Jeremy Evans is projected higher tonight because Gordon Hayward has been out and he’s the SF for Utah who has played the most minutes behind Hayward over the last 2 weeks. Of course that’s not a ton of minutes because Hayward plays a lot and they play some 3 guard lineups with Ingles and Elijah Millsap but the Depth Chart Adjustment gets applied for Evans because he’s the SF. You can edit those values on the Depth Chart Adjustments tab as you need.

  • PunkyTRizz

How do I cancel my subscription? Personally, I find that using spreadsheets is pretty much useless. I agree with the comment below about the ‘crazy recommendations.’ What’s the point of using spreadsheets/paying for subscriptions etc… if you have to alter and edit and tinker with the thing so much? Doesn’t make much sense to me. Even when you enter your own parameters, it still makes crazy recommendations. The ‘Optimal Lineup Generator’ is insane! It suggests players I wouldn’t ever use. Players who have played 20 minutes all season, no reason whatsoever for them to be in a lineup because they have zero chance of playing. I’ve used the spreadsheet suggestion lineups/players only a few times and never so much as placed at the bottom. I knew better but I gave them a shot anyway and they’re always a bust. My ‘homemade’ lineups ALWAYS get more points, way more points. My biggest win was March 28 when I placed 2nd and won $2,000.00 in a single contest. I spend $10-$20 per day. The same lineup placed in the other 3 contests I was playing and won another $335. So I won $2,335. It was my own lineup that I created without any spreadsheets or projection charts etc…I’ve only been playing DFS since November during NFL but I have come to the conclusion that spreadsheets etc…. are not necessary if you simply take the time to be fully informed on the player’s status/matchups etc… you can win. Before I started playing NBA DFS I never watched a basketball game in my life.I knew ZERO about the game. I’ve been learning about the game as I go along and I still won $2,335. Again, if you simply stay fully informed, you can win. Anybody can win. You don’t need fancy spreadsheets and you don’t need to spend a ton of money. You don’t need to be a ‘shark.” If you ask me, the so called ‘sharks’ only win big money, often, because they spend big money, often. How hard is it to win if you spend $5,000 a day and have 500 lineups? Winning daily on $20 with 10-20 lineups is much harder. Nobody wins every day. It’s like the lottery only you’re picking people instead of numbers. You can use a bunch of spreadsheets to play the state lottery too and have it spit out ‘the projected winning numbers’ for that day but it doesn’t mean even one of those numbers will be picked. My wanting to cancel my subscription is nothing against these or any spreadsheets or the folks who create them or the DFS players who use them. I personally prefer to play without them and create my lineups using daily info and my gut. I believe the more I do things without tons of useless data in my face, the better off I’ll be.

    • spreadsheetsports

The subscriptions are a one-time charge only – you won’t be charged again if you no longer want access to the sheet. The spreadsheet isn’t designed to be a one-click solution to perfect lineups every day. It’s a research tool that pulls most of the relevant historical data into one place and lets you adjust the settings any way you like. Sure – if you’re already spending hours a day doing research and you feel confident in your knowledge then you probably don’t need to pay for tools. But if you want to get everything into one place, make your adjustments as you see fit, and then generate multiple lineups based off of your custom settings then I think our tool does a pretty good job of that.

      • PunkyTRizz

Thank you for the reply. I understand spreadsheets aren’t a ‘one-click solution to perfect lineups everyday.’ THAT is NOT what I’m looking for. I ‘do the work.’ I enjoy ‘doing the work.’ By ‘the work’ I mean staying updated and fully informed. However, that does not mean with endless, excruciating, miles and miles of data on every single aspect of the NBA….teams, individual players, historical match-ups etc… IMHO all of that is not necessary to win. My point is this…..I have a spreadsheet before me. It has 3 years worth of historical data in it. I add my own parameters. I click the optimal lineup button and it spits out a lineup including Travis Wear and Johnny O’Bryant. Seriously. Need I say more. If, after all of that……all that data AND my tweaking it to my own specific specifications/paramters, it spits out a lineup with those 2 guys in it…..WHAT is the point of using it?

        • spreadsheetsports

Thanks for the feedback.. If your homemade lineups are consistently scoring 324 points and winning $2000 then by all means keep doing what you’re doing and leave the spreadsheet behind. If you have anything further please send me an email: bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com.

          • PunkyTRizz

All I’m saying is, these spreadsheet tools are not necessary to win. All I’m doing is putting the truth out there. Again…..even with 1,000,000 data points AND user parameters set, it still suggests totally worthless players. If you play in GPPs like I do, these spreadsheets won’t help you at all! The difference between my lineups and the suggestions made by this “machine” are night and day and I don’t use anything but the info provided on DK. These spreadsheets put out lineup suggestions totaling approx. 230 and on a good night, 250. I create 300-360 points lineups EVERYDAY using nothing but basic info, common sense and instinct. Just be honest and tell DFS players who come here that this spreadsheet stuff isn’t necessary. New players think they need all this data and they don’t. Any stats older than the last 10 games are worthless. I have no reason to email you. I understand why my posts may be detrimental to your sales but what I’m saying is the truth. If you wanna sell something that helps new users at least make sure it doesn’t recommend players who don’t even play I mean that’s ridiculous! Bottom line is….I’m a girl who couldn’t even name 3 basketball players 2 months ago but I put together winning lineups weekly using NOTHING but the basics. The only person this spreadsheet tool helps is the guy who created it when another noobie comes along thinking they need it and buys it. Spend your money on entry fees NOT worthless spreadsheets.

          • spreadsheetsports

            Thanks for your feedback.

I recently paid for the MLB Spreadsheet tool for Draft Kings. I have Excel 2007 and I am trying to figure out how to get the solver. I think I followed the directions on your site to enable it, however the instructions say I need to download the MLB Draft King Solver. I can’t find this anywhere.

Can you please help me with this?

  • reddrum

Any idea when you will support other sites “Additional DFS Sites (Fantasy Aces, Fantasy Feud, DraftDay, and others)” for MLB?

    Thank you!

    • spreadsheetsports

There’s not a firm date and there are several other tools (daily dashboards, backtesting tools, etc) that will take priority, but ideally by early May they’ll be ready. Are there certain sites you’d be most interested in?

      • reddrum

        Fantasy Aces most, then Draftday.

      • disqus_LF4jw8NW4z

        fantasy fued

      • reddrum

Any chance the MLB tool supports any of the “additional sites” yet?

        • spreadsheetsports

Unfortunately, no. I’ve been focused on new features and bug fixes for the core tool with FD and DK. What other sites would you want to use it for?

          • reddrum

Fantasy Aces if I could just get one. Draftday too if I could get greedy.

          • spreadsheetsports

I’ll see what I can do. I may have you help me beta test the tool for FantasyAces. Look for something from me within the next week.

          • reddrum

Cool, be glad to test whatever.

Out of curiosity, is there an api you pull the data from the fantasy sites with or are you scraping it out of their pages?

          • spreadsheetsports

API from DK and FD. Will have to figure out the best way on the other sites. For football I just manually and copy and paste from other sites each week.

  • Pat Lord

when do i receive access after signing up with draftkings?

    • spreadsheetsports

Once we receive confirmation from DraftKings. Unfortunately, there’s usually a 3-4 hour delay with DK. I’ll send over access later this afternoon.

  • Jeff

Today is my first day using the spreadsheet and so far its awesome! The only problem was that I had to enter the starting pitchers manually. It had all of the pitchers from yesterday. I checked the date and refreshed, but it still had the pitchers from yesterday. Any suggestion?

    • spreadsheetsports

Jeff – the refresh should bring everything current to the day you’re using it. If it continues to be an issue for you can you save your sheet and send it over to me? I’ll take a look and see if I can spot the issue, but I haven’t heard of that as a problem before. Email is bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

  • Temet

I just purchased the mlb projection tool and love it!! Thank you. Is there any way to use the amount that I paid for the monthly subscription for a year long subscription?

  • ChicagoRolls

Can you help with this? Today’s Rays/Orioles game at 4:05 is not being listed on the projection/hunches page as being one of the games. Why is this, and can you please add them in? I have the DraftKings version of the tool.

    • ChicagoRolls

      Where is support?

The Rays/Orioles game today is missing from being considered for the early games on DK, and the tool keeps insisting using a player – Darin Ruf – who isn’t starting on the already published lineup for PHI.

Days like this when the tool is not using correct information is a big pain, as it’s rendered partially useles as it’s not considering the most update information, and yes, I have gotten today’s data several times and the PHI lineups has been out long enough today.

If there is no one watching each day for issuesnusers are having, what kind of support are we getting?

      • spreadsheetsports

Couple of things… First, you can try downloading a fresh sheet. I made an update earlier this week when a game was missing due to no start time listed in the source I use. It only affected a handful of hand throughout the year, but today may be one of them.

You can also manually add a missing have to that section on the Hunches and Exclusions tab and it should function just the same.

On the PHI lineup, as soon as baseballpress.com gets update and you run a Refresh, the lineups will be updated. If you see the lineup on another site earlier you can load it manually, but it won’t auto update until Baseballpress is set.

Finally, as I posted on the Google+ community last night, I’m on the road on vacation at the moment. The level of support during the day will be reduced this week due to that, but I’ll be responding to as much at I can each evening. If that’s an issue – shoot me and email and we can discuss.

        • ChicagoRolls

My apologies. I did not know you were on vacation. I do not use Google plus.

When I originally downloaded my sheet from your site I did not have cookies turned on in my browser and so when I go to your site now it doesn’t know that I purchased the sheet. I don’t know how to get around that and be able to download a new one.

As for adding the Tampa Bay Baltimore game into my sheet, I do not see that option in the hunches and exclusions page, I just see where you can exclude teams, but nothing about adding teams. And looking through the instructions page again I don’t see anything there that says how to add missing teams to be considered in the algorithms.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation and maybe we can figure this out when you get back from vacation.

          • spreadsheetsports

No worries. You should be able to log back in at http://www.spreadsheet-sports.com/mlb-update. When you first purchased you created an account so you’ll need to click “Already Purchased” under the package you bought and login with your email and password. If you don’t know it – shoot me an email at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com with the email address you used to purchase (or at least the date) and I’ll look it up.

Manually adding a game is not really in the instructions because it shouldn’t be needed, but all you would need to do is just add the teams to the bottom of the list with the game time. That will ensure players from that game get a projection.

          • ChicagoRolls

I’m glad to let you know that I was able to login and download a new spreadsheet, and I also was able to add in the Rays/Orioles game as you instructed and everything worked fine.

I also think the tool is awesome! I’ll definitely be purchasing the NFL one. I also wish there was or will be one for college football!

            Thanks again.

          • spreadsheetsports

Awesome – glad you got everything working. I do plan to release a college football tool this season as well – so look for that in another couple of months.

  • Vince

How do I get a refund for this product?

  • Seba

I’ve been having countless issues with the entire sheet for MLB. I’ve only gotten one lineup projected for DK via ‘Run Model’ button to work out of like 20+ attempts so far. Fanduel won’t work at all. I download the new sheets (like you told others) open them up either directly from the dl or open Excel first then open the sheet.

In the ‘Projections’ page, whether I leave it default or make changes to the ‘ % used’ column, as well as changes in the ‘Hunches & Exclusions’ page (won’t exclude the listed teams) both the ‘FanDuel Optimal Lineup’ & ‘DraftKings Optimal Lineup’ pages show errors. The errors are in the ‘salary’ column for a given player show up as: #N/A. When I click the ‘Run Model’ button in ‘FanDuel Optimal Lineups’ it won’t display any results and if it does they’re with errors for specific positions. Sometimes even the total ‘projection’ and ‘salary’ values will display #N/A.

I followed the troubleshooting guide, the solver add-in is enabled as well as well as everything else listed in the guide but this thing is still giving me countless issues.

    Help would be greatly appreciated!

    • spreadsheetsports

Can you email me the file as it exists with the errors you’re seeing? It sounds like you have the Solver plugin installed, but I’m not sure what else would be causing your problem. Also please let me know what version of Excel you’re using. Email is bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com and I’ll work to get you back up and running on the tool.

      • Seba

Just sent you an email. Thanks!

  • ChicagoRolls

I don’t see my earlier message, but I found that I had clicked the wrong spreadsheet, and when I went back and clicked on MLB, I got through and got the DL, so all is well.

    • spreadsheetsports

Just saw your second message – glad you got everything worked out!

  • Richatd

Just purchased the season package for baseball but can’t find where to log in and use any of the tools

    • spreadsheetsports

You should have gotten an email from Tinypass with all of the details. Check the email account that you used when you went through the sign-up process (or the email associated with your PayPal account if you paid with PayPal). The login page is: http://www.spreadsheet-sports.com/mlb-update. You’ll click “Already Purchased” under the package you bought. If any other questions come up – please email me directly at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

  • JTurner11

Have you considered making this compatible with Google Sheets? I don’t think I want to purchase Excel just to be able to use this, but I would purchase this if it worked with Google Sheets…just a suggestion.

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – it’s something we’ve looked into, but there are several components necessary in Excel that aren’t available in Google Sheets. We’re looking into web-based options, but it’s Excel only for the time-being.

      • JTurner11

Appreciate the response. I know Google recently added in a linear optimization tool that I thought may be necessary for this. But I’ll check back to your site in the future to see if you are able to go this route. Thanks!

  • ChicagoRolls

Hi, I purchased the NFL tools this morning, and wondering if you’re still planning to have a CFB tool available for this coming season?
    Thanks!

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – still working on getting the college football tool ready. I’m hoping to have NFL updated for the 2015 season and college football released on Monday August 17th

      • ChicagoRolls

CFB this week. Any updates on the progress on the CFB tools in time for the opening games?

        • spreadsheetsports

I’m in the middle of getting all of the data prepared now. I expect to have everything ready by the first set of games Thursday, but it likely won’t be until Wednesday that everything is complete. You’ll see an email come through once it’s ready

          • ChicagoRolls

            Awesome. Thanks!

  • reddrum

Is the CFB tool just FD and DK at the moment? I bought the big package, but only see those two in the tool. I know you are just ramping this one up, but I wanted to make sure I got the right sheet. Thank you!

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – just FD and DK as of now. I can take requests for additional sites (they’re much easier to add for football than MLB)

  • Dorakin Warhammer

I have a macbook pro, are your sheets compatible with numbers?

    • spreadsheetsports

They are not compatible with Numbers. If you’re on a Mac you’ll need Excel for Mac 2011 or Excel for Mac 2016

  • Justin Willmon

On this weeks spreadsheet, everytime I run it to get my optimal lineup for NFL, it leaves a few positions with the #N/A symbol. Not sure what I need to do when im switching weeks, any help?

    • spreadsheetsports

A new spreadsheet will be released Wednesday morning for the following weekend so week 2 is not yet available. You’ll need to login and re-download then.

      • Justin Willmon

Well that makes sense then. Haha. It was letting me change the week right above where you choose which site your using, and all the games would update after I switched it to week 2, but I just couldn’t get it to change those values haha. I appreciate the reply!

does anyone know how I can sort by the CY column and it always sort that way? I tried selecting the player pool in the projections tab and doing a typical sort but when I change things like only show qbs and what not it resorts back to some strange sorting

    • spreadsheetsports

We’re working on making the Projections tab sortable. For now – you can sort on the Optimal Lineup tab or send the data to the Lineup Generator and do your sort and filtering there.

  • Lizard King

your yahoo prices on the week 2 spreadsheet are FUBar

    • spreadsheetsports

Yahoo is not updated yet (and probably won’t be until after the game tonight). They do not allow API access or even CSV downloads for their player pool data so we’ve had to go to some odd lengths to get this loaded. It should be in place by Friday.

      • Lizard King

        thx

  • Ap Rhys

today’s baseball spreadsheet won’t load..it says the file is corrupt

    • spreadsheetsports

Is this with the Projection Tool or Advanced Stats dashboard? Also, what package do you have (All, FD, or DK)?

  • Dave Altman

For some reason the mlb projections tool will not load the proper rosters and keeps suggesting players that are not playing tonight.

    • spreadsheetsports

Dave – we identified an issue with the FanDuel salary feed that we’ve been using all season that just changed. We’ve corrected the issue and the player pool should get loaded correctly tomorrow. Sorry about that.

  • Andy LaFollette

Will you be updating the spreadsheets to be compatible with Excel 2016? I get errors when using NFL Projection Tool Week 3 and try to ‘Send to multi-Lineup Optimizer’ and ‘Send to Lineup Generator’. I get the following error for both:
    – Run-time Error ‘9’
    – Subscript Out of Range
Is there an easy fix for this?

    • spreadsheetsports

We will be working on Excel 2016 starting this weekend. However, I’m not sure the issue you’re referring to is Excel 2016 specific.

The “subscript out of range error”, is caused by one of the following issues:

      a) Not saved on your computer with the exact same name as it’s uploaded on the site (your browser could have added a (1) at the end when you downloaded it and that needs to be removed when you save it

      b) The Solver file is not open in the same instance of Excel (although don’t worry about that in Excel 2013 because all files open in their own stand-alone window and it will work fine there)

      c) Editing is not enabled on the Solver file. You should see a yellow notification bar below the formula bar if it’s not yet enabled.

      • Andy LaFollette

A B and C are not the issue; I made sure all three were correct.

      • Andy LaFollette

I also tried using the NFL Lineup Generator (Fanduel) but when I go to put in a kicker it doesn’t allow me. When I look through the Projections tab there are no kickers listed… Is that an error or is it because I’m using Excel 2016?

        • spreadsheetsports

If you’re on Excel 2016 for Mac there are separate instructions for sending to the Lineup Generator and Multi-lineup Optimizer files. See the end of the User Guide under our support section

          • Andy LaFollette

            I’m using Windows 10

  • Ryan

Good morning. I’m having a couple of issues the Week 3 FanDuel Projection Tool. First, I’m not able to lock in players on the Optimal Lineup tab. I place an “L” in the appropriate column next to their name, but the tool keeps selecting other players (I’m only trying to lock one or two players at a time). Also, the optimal lineups I keep getting this week are all showing a total salary cap of $60,100. Shouldn’t the max for FanDuel be $60k? Can you help me out with this? Thanks.

    • spreadsheetsports

If you redownload the salary cap issue should be fixed. There was an issue with Tampa Bay DEF salary. If you’re using a Lineup Setting other than none you might see an issue with lock/excludes this week. I’m working on getting that corrected but for now it’s best to use None

  • Da Jo

NFL spreadsheet seems to not be working correctly this week for Yahoo. Total team salary comes out to $220 every time I run it.

  • Will

The Draftkings optimal lineup mlb tool has errors. The salaries are not correct, which means you cannot assign the lineup because the suggested lineup is overpriced and there is no shortstop position in the lineup. I emailed you about this earlier today but haven’t heard anything back.

  • Adam Ford

Week 4 NFL Fanduel is producing a subscript error “runtime error 9” subscript out of range

    • spreadsheetsports

It should be fixed if you re-download the Projection Tool

      • Adam Ford

I ran the debug and it looks like the incorrect file name on line 17. It’s attempting to activate a file with “Fanduel” in between “2015” and “NFL” instead of “Tool” and “Week”. It’s repeated multiple times in the code

        • spreadsheetsports

i see the issue now – I’ve re-loaded the files with the correct file name references in the Macro

      • Adam Ford

I renamed the file and that fixed it!

  • Joseph Alan Barnette

I can’t get this weeks CFB GAMES.any help

    • spreadsheetsports

      • Joseph Alan Barnette

I see the players for this week. But the slate still has last weeks games.

        • spreadsheetsports

The slate should be correct if you download the week 5 sheets that are available now. If there’s something specific that looks wrong let me know what it is, but I’m not seeing any problems

  • Da Jo

Error in Week 5 NFL Spreadsheet: “Solver: An Unexpected Internal Error Occurred, Or Available Memory Was Exhausted.

    • spreadsheetsports

That sounds like there was something specific that you input in the settings that would have caused that. Can you try downloading a new file and working from there? If it happens again – please save the file with the error and send to me at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com and I’ll troubleshoot.

      • Da Jo

Didn’t change any settings in the file…will send your way. Thanks.

  • Skell

I have an error with week 5 DK. 2 off the positions TE and D are blank. When I click generate lineup I get an error. I have tried to download again, same error.

  • Skell

The error I get is exception from HRESULT:0x800A03EC

  • HMMMMM

I get a compile error that states “can’t find project or library” when I try to run the optimal lineup. I have downloaded the solver so that is not the issue. Any thoughts?

    • spreadsheetsports

If you’re running Excel for Mac 2011 you’ll need to try these steps:

      1. Click on Tools > Hover over Macros and choose VBA Editor

      2. Then click on Tools again and choose References

      3. When the reference box opens up you want to make sure the box next to “Missing Solver.XLAM” is unchecked and “Solver” is checked

If you’re on Excel 2016 for Windows, try these steps:

      1. Open Excel on its own and open up a new, blank file

      2. Click on Data > Solver and then when the Solver dialogue box pops up just click Solve. You’ll get an error saying there are no values. That’s fine

      3. Open the Projection Tool file (make sure you don’t close Excel in between). Now you can close your blank file and the Projection Tool should work properly.

If that’s not the issue I would suggest shutting down Excel and reopening. If you’re on a different version of Excel please email me and I’ll help troubleshoot: bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

  • Josh

#NA shows up for a few positions when using the lineup optimizer. How do I resolve this problem? I am using excel 2016 with the solver installed.

  • cooper_73

When i click on the “Send to Lineup Generator” I get a message that says:

    Run-time error ‘9’
    Subscript out of range

    • spreadsheetsports

The “subscript out of range error”, is caused by one of the following issues:

      a) Not saved on your computer with the exact same name as it’s uploaded on the site (your browser could have added a (1) at the end when you downloaded it and that needs to be removed when you save it

      b) The Solver file is not open in the same instance of Excel (although don’t worry about that in Excel 2013 because all files open in their own stand-alone window and it will work fine there)

      c) Editing is not enabled on the Solver file. You should see a yellow notification bar below the formula bar if it’s not yet enabled.

Let me know if that helps. The most likely cause is the file name so make sure you have those exactly as they were when you downloaded from the site.

  • Dimar

I’m new to Spreadsheet Sports and am having an issue in Find Optimal Lineup. I am continuing to get the compile error “cant find project or library”. I have tried using suggestions listed below, but am not having success. Using Mac Excel 11. Any advice? Solver is running.

However, the Multi-Lineup Optimizer will not work on Excel for Mac 2011. It doesn’t have the VBA support to run Solver multiple times at once. The Projection Tool and Lineup Generator should work fine though. You’ll need to upgrade to Excel for Mac 2016 or Windows Excel for the Multi-Lineup Optimizer

  • Joseph Alan Barnette

Having trouble with NFL Multiple lineups for this week. I downloaded and saved with same name as website. Made sure there wasn’t a 1 at the end of saved file. I have solver enabled and still getting run-time error.

    • spreadsheetsports

Subscript out of range error? That’s telling you that it can’t recognize one of the file names. If you’re on Excel for Mac 2016 there are extra instructions at the end of the User Guide. If not, make sure you have both files open in Excel and enabled for editing. If it still isn’t working email me your file names and version of Excel

There appears to be an issue with how the Solver plugin gets loaded on 2016. I have a support ticket in to the company that creates the Solver plugin to fully resolve the issue. I do have a work-around in place that’s very simple – but it includes opening another file first. Please email me at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com and I’ll get you the file and instructions.

Hi, two questions. Just downloaded for CFB.
    1. Is there a multiple lineup generator for Draftkings College Football?
    2. Where is the box in Draftkings for selecting Floor or Ceiling for GPP games for College Football?
    Thanks in advance!

is it a one time fee of $40 for a season NBA

    • spreadsheetsports

Yes – the season package is just a one time fee and you’ll have access to any updates throughout the rest of the season.

When are the weekly NFL projections released?

    • spreadsheetsports

      Wednesday mornings

  • John

I downloaded the DK NBA Sheet and it gave me a lineup with a $60,300 salary. Help

    • spreadsheetsports

Please see the tab in the spreadsheet labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide. You likely don’t have the Solver plugin installed

      • John

Thanks I did see that and I followed the steps. Now it’s giving me projected fantasy points in decimals (.17 as an example)

        • spreadsheetsports

Make sure the values in the base projections box add up to 1. I would download a fresh file if that isn’t the issue.

  • Mike W

When do you refresh the data for the new week?

  • Mike W

Ok on the draftkings optimal lineup tab in the projection too spreadsheet, there’s a long box drawn around a group of players from the top down the last one within that box where you can place a 1 or 0 in those cells. What if I want to select a player to be added to the lineup using a 1 or 0 that is not in that box, for example Torrey Smith.

    • spreadsheetsports

You should not be editing that column at all. If you want to “lock” a player you can do so in the first column by placing an L next to their name. If the player is not in the top 200 you’ll need to do an adjustment for that player on the Manual Adjustments tab to get him there and then you can lock him. Check out the User Guide linked on the Support page here

Hi Bryan, signed up this afternoon. When I click th already signed up link and enter my tinypass user/pass I get logged in but no links appear for download. Please help, thanks

  • James

There is an issue with the NBA projection tool for the week of 12-14-15. it is not showing any tabs, no optimizer…. nothing but the main page.

    • spreadsheetsports

It sounds like you’re having an issue with Excel on your machine. I would suggest saving the file upon download instead of opening it directly. Then open Excel on its own and do a File > Open to open the file you just saved. That should open in full edit mode. Let me know if that helps.

      • James

That did not work. The NFL opens fine but the NBA is missing all the tabs at the bottom. and the slider in the bottom right corner is a zoom tool instead of moving across the spread sheet.

  • Oris Diaz

Does the tool work with i phone or u need to have computer

    • spreadsheetsports

You need the full version of Microsoft Excel on a laptop or desktop computer. It won’t work on a mobile device.

  • Chris Turner

Just purchased your product and wonder how I download the program? Not sure where to go

  • Matt Dengler

Hello, I accidentally just chose the Draftkings NFL tool but meant to choose the NBA tool. Could you please make sure to send me the NBA tool instead of the NFL tool please?

  • Tony

I’m waiting for someone to get back to me regarding a runtime error that I’m getting in excel when I send to lineup generator

    • spreadsheetsports

Did you email us or submit a Bug Report? I didn’t see it come through. If you have the FanDuel version of the tool and you downloaded it immediately on Monday there was a bug in the Send code. You may want to download the Projection Tool again. If you’re still getting the error – it’s likely that one of your file names is different now that it’s saved on your machine than it was when you downloaded from the website. You also need to have both files open in Excel at the same time. See the tab in the Projection Tool labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide for full details. Also, if you click the Debug option when that error pops up it should show you exactly what file name it’s looking for and you’ll need to change the file name to that first. You can email me directly at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com if that doesn’t help.

  • Tony

I’m not getting all the teams and players when I refresh (update) my spreadsheet. I’m getting more problems then I expected. If this can’t be resolved in a timely manner, I would like a refund

    • spreadsheetsports

If you take a look at the Excel Troubleshooting Guide tab within the sheet – there are several options to try under the Refresh section. The refresh should run automatically, but there may be setting you need to change on your machine to allow it to run. Let me know if that doesn’t help. You can email me directly at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

Updated NFL sheet not out yet? Will it be out soon that you are aware of?

  • Nic

I just purchased the system a few days ago and am feeling my way around it. Seems like great stuff. My question is with the regression tool. Some not so good plays really get beefed up in my custom projections, (example: Tibor Pleiss was projected for 28 points yesterday) I use the regression tool to bring it down, but I feel like it brings the top players down too far. Any suggestions on how to handle this? I used the exclude player tool to keep Pleiss off my optimal lineup, but I’d really like to get these numbers more where I like them. Any suggestions on which projections to use and not use? Thanks!!

    • spreadsheetsports

You’re talking about the Regression Level value that you can change in the sheet?

My guess is that Pleiss was projected highly because of a Depth Chart adjustment or because in the few games he’s played he has a massive split between home and away or something like that. In that scenario – you just need to make sure his projected minutes are limited to what he would truly be expected to play (with Gobert back that expectation should have been close to 0).

With that being said – top players are going to have big fluctuations game to game. It’s very difficult to predict that and that’s why most projection systems tend to stay towards the average for each player. However, if you want to take those splits to the extreme and use the Regression Level of 1 you’re going to see big swings. If all goes according to how it has in the past – your projections might be spot on. There’s also a good chance some will be wildly off.

I would recommend leaving the Regression Level at 2 (where it is by default). That’s what I’ve found to be historically most accurate when comparing actual points with projections.

      • Nic

Ok, thank you. That makes more sense when you explain it like that. I really like what you are offering here. Once I get it down I think it will save me a ton of time from research. Thanks Again!

  • Corey Oberthaler

I just joined this so maybe I am missing something. I asked for optimal lineup but it is showing a lineup that is over the salary cap for Draftkings. How do I fix it?

    • spreadsheetsports

You likely need to install the Solver plugin. See the tab in the spreadsheet labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide for details

      • Corey Oberthaler

I installed the solver plugin but it still isn’t working. Also, I click on the solver user guide but it doesn’t allow me to download, it just goes to the screen that explains how to use it.

  • Marc B.

The NBA spreadsheet does not seem to work, I tried all the steps suggested with no promising results. Unexpected error Exception from HERSULT:0800A03Ec

    • spreadsheetsports

Please see the tab in the sheet labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide. I’m guessing you’re using Excel 2016 and there are specific steps for that version to fix the HRESULT error. You may also need to re-install the Solver plugin. If the method described in the Troubleshooting Guide doesn’t help I would go into File > Options > Add-Ins > COM Add-Ins and uncheck Solver. Then close Excel, go back through the same steps and make sure Solver is checked.

  • Nic

Quick question, the spreadsheet has Damian Lillard listed as day-to-day and will not give me a custom projection for him. How can I take the injury off to get his custom projection? Thanks

    • spreadsheetsports

You can put him in the Force Projection column on the far right of the Player Adjustments tab

      • Nic

Ok, got it! Thanks for the reply!

  • Corey Oberthaler

I installed the solver add-in but it still isn’t giving me a lineup within the salary cap. Also, do I need to download more than the projection tool? Maybe I am lost as to what I need to work this optimally.

    • spreadsheetsports

The Projection Tool with the Solver add-in should be all you need. Are you getting a specific error message? Send me a screenshot of what you’re seeing that’s not working right. Also, check out the tab in the spreadsheet labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide that covers most of the common errors and how to fix them. You can email me your screenshot directly at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

  • DoubleLGetsBusy

Having major issues with the sheet at the moment. For some reason I can no longer cut & paste information into the blue areas under the Player Adjustments tab. Now only a handful of the player’s projections show up in column J when it was working fine before. I’ve tried downloading a fresh sheet, solver, you name it & nothing is working.

    • spreadsheetsports

It sounds like you might be having an issue with your instance of Excel? The blue areas of the Player Adjustments tab are simply blank cells that you can enter any kind of data into. There’s nothing blocking that. Maybe try entering data manually in there first rather than cut and paste. Maybe there’s an issue with the size and shape of the data you’re trying to paste.

      • DoubleLGetsBusy

Thanks for the reply, I did some digging on my own & you nailed it my Excel was jacked up for some reason. On top of that there was a bit of user error on my part (not being aware that I shouldn’t have another sheet open when running optimal lineups among others) but everything seems to be working OK at last check.

As far as my copy & paste I always make sure to only use in the blue areas & I always paste the value only so as not to mess things up.

On a positive note I do want to thank you guys for building this site & tool for us to use. I’m super new to DFS (maybe about 2 months in) & with the help of first the YouTube vid, then the extensive write up here on the tool, I feel like I’ve been on the fast track. With the help of the tool I posted my first score over 300 only 2 days ago on Draftkings! Keep up the good work.

        • spreadsheetsports

Awesome – great to hear you got it working and that the sheet has been helping out!

  • Derek

Hey guys I’m having trouble with generating optimal lineup. I’ve checked and I do have the solver add-on installed. I dont know what else to do. I took a look at the troubleshooting guide but its greek to me.

    • spreadsheetsports

Are you getting some kind of error message – or what’s happening that’s not working for you? The Troubleshooting Guide is meant to provide solutions for common error messages so if you’re getting an error message you will likely find the work-around there. I would suggest re-downloading the file and working from a fresh one. It may just be that Excel needed to be restarted for the Solver plugin to take effect. If that’s not the case – send me a screenshot of what you’re seeing. bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

      • Derek

Hi, here’s my specific problem. on the fanduel optimal lineup page there are several positions that are not populated. When I hit the optimize button, I get the error message, ‘ can’t find project or library”. I’ve tried using the troubleshooting tool but obviously I didn’t find the solution.

        • spreadsheetsports

That’s the very first part of the Excel Troubleshooting Guide linked directly in the spreadsheet. You need to install and enable the Solver plugin. Let me know if that gets it working for you

          • Derek

Thanks man it’s working perfectly now.

  • Davis Albright

hey why is the nba tool not refreshing today?

Check the tab in the spreadsheet labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide. You likely need the Solver plugin. Let me know if that helps

      • Noah Yarborough

I have the solver plug in already. I don’t have any clue what is wrong? It’s not something that simple I don’t think.

        • spreadsheetsports

One other thing you can try is to download a fresh sheet in case something got out of place on your sheet. Then refresh and try to run an optimal lineup from there. If you get any kind of Compile Error it’s likely an issue with the Solver plugin. If that still doesn’t work – email me the spreadsheet with the error and I’ll troubleshoot. bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

  • Joe Lapan

Forgive my ignorance, but where can I find the guide for the lineup generator?

    • spreadsheetsports

Currently in the works. You should just be able to send the data to the Lineup Generator from the Projection Tool, and then enter your 4-5 players that you’re considering at each position on that first tab. Be sure to close the Projection Tool and then click Find Optimal Lineups.

  • Hamee

    Hi Guys,

Awesome spreadsheet just have one problem. I am having difficulties running the multiple lineups automation(Send Multiple Lineups Sheet). The error that comes up is “Run-time error “9”: Subscript out of range”

    Please help

    • spreadsheetsports

That’s likely due to the file names being different than when you originally downloaded them from the site or you don’t have both the Projection Tool and Multi-Lineup Optimizer open in Excel at the same time. See the tab in the Projection Tool labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide for full details.

  • Eric

Hi I’m a noob. I have generated the lineups I want using the multilineup tool. If I want to upload these unto Draftkings how do I do that?

    • spreadsheetsports

We don’t have a tool that connects directly with DraftKings. They recently cut off any 3rd party tools that upload to their site. Now you have to use their own tool to upload lineups. You should be able to save your lineups as a CSV (directly in Excel). I would copy the lineups you want to upload, make any changes based on their format specifications, and then save it as a CSV file rather than an Excel file. Then you should be able to upload via their tool.

      • Eric

        Got It! Thanks!

      • Eric

So the draftkings template for uploading a csv requires a name and ID, would there be anyway for you to include the ID’s in the future?

        • spreadsheetsports

I should be able to put out a template that does a lookup to ID’s. It should be fairly simple to do it yourself in the meantime – just write a vlookup in Excel to the column of ID’s from the player name. I’ll see if I can get that template out soon.

  • Michael Smith

I am having a horrible time with the solver add-in and excel 2016. I’m trying to follow your steps to no avail. Please help

  • Hamee

Are there any optimal ceiling ratios you guys use for gpps?

    • spreadsheetsports

Not sure what you mean by “ceiling ratio”. We have “ceiling” values calculated as part of our tool that takes the player’s fantasy points at the 90th percentile in all their games during the time period you choose. You can use that value to build your projections and optimal lineups off of.

      • Hamee

Thank you. I was wondering what method you would recommend to build GPP lineups.

  • Eric

I’ve been using the NBA projection tool for a few weeks now. I love it! I’m using Excel 2016 and have been using the reset solver file and I’ve been getting optimal lineups no problem. Just downloaded the new spreadsheet for tonights games.. but it’s acting glitchy when I ask for an optimal lineup.. ie. getting players with projections of 0. I did everything the same way I’ve been doing it with the solver file etc. Is there something I should know?

    • spreadsheetsports

Nothing has changed on the FanDuel or DraftKings side. I just added the ability to run lineups for other sites through the tool. I would check on the Solver plugin installation on your machine. Go through the steps to install again if it’s not there (or download a fresh sheet in case something got out of whack when you first opened)

  • Tommy Normanly

Do the sheets work in Google Docs? Thanks!

    • spreadsheetsports

No, the sheets require the full version of Microsoft Excel on a laptop/desktop. It uses data connections and macros which are not available in Google Docs or free spreadsheet alternatives.

  • William Randolph

Help anyone? My optimal lineup don’t work. I’m trying to troubleshoot. Can anyone help?

    • spreadsheetsports

Take a look at the tab in the spreadsheet labeled Excel troubleshooting guide. That should get it working for you but if not you can email me a screenshot of what you’re seeing. bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

      • William Randolph

Thanks. I think I got it. Went to Youtube.

  • Terry McCready

Hey all, question…after I closed out of everything I get this “Solver Password” window…it wants me to enter the solver password and I am not sure what password its asking for? Anyone know what this is? Everything else worked fine, other than I had to use the reset solver attachment for excel 2016.
    Thanks!

    • spreadsheetsports

This is a known bug with the Solver plugin (not necessarily related to our sheet in particular). Just hold the escape key if it pops up and it will go away.

      • Terry McCready

        Sweet, thanks. beats restarting puter.

      • Terry McCready

Thanks..one more question…I am confused….should I be updating the actual spreadsheet tool periodically to a newer version or something? (I don’t mean the daily games of course, I know I do that within the tool itself), if so, where do I get the updates and where to d/l it? Thanks!

        • spreadsheetsports

Yes, a new sheet gets uploaded each week with updated Matchup History, Defense vs. Opponent, Depth Chart, etc. You can download it at http://www.spreadsheet-sports.com/nba-update. Click on Already Purchased next to the package you bought.

          • Terry McCready

When I log in to download the updated worksheet it asks me to pay again even though I already purchased it…am I missing something? I don’t need to pay again for the updated sheet right, or do i?
            Thanks again for the responses.
            -Terry

when I click find optimal lineup it says cant find project or library. please help

    • spreadsheetsports

Please see the tab labeled Excel Troubleshooting Guide. The issue is that the Solver plugin is not enabled.

  • jeff

Today is Aug 8th. I downloaded the new spreadsheet. Ran an optimal line-up. I use Draftkings and have that set in the Projections tab. Problem. All or many of the salaries are wrong. Is anyone else seeing this?

    • spreadsheetsports

This should be fixed now the next time you refresh. Let me know if that’s not the case

      • jeff

all set now. thx for rapid response.

  • Brian

Would you be able to post your NfL optimized scores for DK cash last year. I could look and compare to what I have. If I can get an edge over what I have been doing I would buy today. Same for mlb- can you send me scores from the year for optimized model?

    • spreadsheetsports

We don’t have a set of optimized scores because we offer a framework for you to build your own lineups – not provide a single best lineup for all of our subscribers. You can adjust any of the projection settings so you have full control over how the projections are built. You can even load your own projections from any other source and make adjustments to individual players. Then the tool will find the best possible lineup based on those conditions. We don’t collect scores from our users so that’s not something we can provide. You can check out our Testimonials page to see what kind of success our users have had: https://www.spreadsheetsports.com/testimonials/

  • Herbert Schmidt

    Brian,
I purchased MLB projection tool yesterday. I run Excel 2011 for Mac. The spreadsheet doesn’t work, it says I don’t have the library.
    Please help

    • spreadsheetsports

There’s an extra step to install the Solver plugin. If you check out the Excel Troubleshooting Guide tab in the Projection Tool file it shows you any different steps that need to be taken depending on the version of Excel you’re using. Let me know if that helps.

Greetings, Fanduel stats are not loading properly and I continue to get ‘runtime error ‘9’ and a subscript out or range’ with the option to “end debug or help” ps I’ve cleared my cache. Please Help

    • spreadsheetsports

The Excel Troubleshooting Guide tab within the spreadsheet should help. The subscript out of range happens when the Excel files are saved on your computer with a different name than they were originally on our site. If you click Debug you’ll see exactly what the Excel files should be named. If the FanDuel stats aren’t updating – you may have an issue with the refresh. There’s an entire section in the guide on things that you can try to get the refresh working properly. Let me know if that helps. If not – please email me a screenshot of what you’re seeing at bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com

  • Oris Diaz

Do u need a computer to use the tool or u can use ur iPhone or smart phone wit excel ?

    • spreadsheetsports

You need the full version of Excel on a computer. The mobile Excel apps do not support all of the features the tool uses.

  • Adam Hyatt

I followed the directions exactly for Fanduel (the free access). Never got an email or anything for my free access.

    • spreadsheetsports

Did you submit a new sign-up form from our Free Access page? I did not see it come through. Can you send over the email address and username you used on FanDuel so we can validate?

  • Fet Pali

NFL Week 3 sheet seems to have a solver issue. Week 2 sheet is however working fine but week 3 will not run the optimal lineup generator. i’m using office 2007.

    • spreadsheetsports

There shouldn’t be anything different in Week 3. Excel 2007 is always fickle with Solver. If you shut down Excel and open again you may get it working. Or uninstall and reinstall the Solver plugin. Is there an error message you’re getting?

      • Fet Pali

I’ve tried the shut down excel and re-install solver. the only thing I notice is that TE and D comes up with n/a and when I look to find TE1 and D1 in the projections tab all I see is 0. maybe that will help you out. seems like it’s not getting data for those positions.

  • DJ

    Hi Brian,
Just purchased the NFL tool yesterday. Didn’t realize until afterwards when I started using it that there are hard max limits on the number of potential players per each position for the lineup generator. For a single or handful of contests this might be OK, but if trying to spread diverse lineups across a large number of contests this restriction limits the value of the tool. I could understand if the number of combinations exceeded the capacity of excel but seems like there is still some room before that might happen. Curious why the limits are not changeable and whether or not there is any consideration to expand them moving forward? thanks

    • spreadsheetsports

I agree that it’s not ideal to have restrictions, but the way it’s implemented – every lineup is explicitly laid out on individual rows in Excel. Once you start going beyond 100,000 potential lineups – this gets to be a problem and Excel runs very slowly. Plus, it’s difficult to do much with thousands of lineups at once. FanDuel and DraftKings both have import limits so it’s not like you can automatically load 10,000 lineups at once even if you could generate them. You can play with the calculator in the bottom left of the Lineup Generator file to see how many lineups are possible based on how many players you consider at each position. You’ll see that it gets bigger exponentially when you start to add to what’s available.

I’m curious where you feel it’s limiting? I’m guessing you want to use more QB’s? If that’s the case – run two iterations with your other players the same and 3 new QB’s the second time. I don’t plan on increasing the limits, but i would consider it if there’s a compelling argument to do so. Right now I just don’t see the value if you can’t do anything with that many lineups anyway.

      • DJ

without going too far into the detail on the entire strategy, the short answer would be rather than looking to load 10,000 different possible lineup combinations using a small set of players at each position, instead I’m looking for a much smaller number of potentially highest scoring lineups using a wider assortment of players at each position. Sort of diversification across multiple types of contests as well as team game schedules. So yes it would be nice to be able to enter more than the current number of QBs but also TE and Flex/K. Though not ideal, even if I had the flexibility to adjust the number of candidates at each position while keeping the total max number of players the same would be helpful. So if I want to run it by adding 2 more QBs, maybe I would reduce RB and WR by 1 player each to stay within the max. I’d be happy to go into more detail via another method of communication but I don’t think it’s best suited for this board. Am I the only one who has suggested this might be valuable? thanks

        • spreadsheetsports

You can shoot me a note about what you’re looking to do and we’ll see if we can build it into our tools – bryan@spreadsheet-sports.com. The problem with adding more positions to the Multi-Lineup Generator is that every lineup combination has to be explicitly built on a single row and then we do filtering from there. There are ways in the Multi-Lineup Optimizer where you could upload custom projections to a larger pool of players and then zero out projections for everyone else and let the lineups get built using your pool of players only. The problem there is that it takes some time to run the optimization algorithm on every lineup so requesting more than 50 is going to take 10 minutes probably or more.

  • Sharkie

I tried to generate a .csv and it gives me runtime error “9” subscript out of range. Why?

    • spreadsheetsports

Make sure your files are named the same as when you downloaded them from our site. Check the Excel Troubleshooting Guide for further details. Also, if you click Debug when you get that error you’ll see exactly what the file name is expected to be.

  • Brady McManus

How can I find a step by step for the multi lineup tool NBA? I want to know how to use the percentage feature so I can make sure a player only appears in a certain percent of lineups? Thanks

    • spreadsheetsports

I’ve added this link to the User Guide – but this is what you should need: https://www.spreadsheetsports.com/nba-multiple-lineups-guide

When you want to limit exposure you should enter a 0.5 for 50%. This will act as a ceiling for that player – it will not force the player into exactly that many lineups. For example, if James Harden appears in every lineup without any exposure settings and then you put a 0.5 on him – he will only appear in 50%. However, if you put a 0.5 on a player who was not appearing in the Optimal Lineup by default – he still won’t appear in any lineups. Also, it doesn’t work as a global setting where you can put 0.5 on every player to make sure no players can appear in more than 50% of lineups – it’s only useful on a player by player basis.

  • Michael M.

Hello. Great Product. Is there anyway to change the Vegas Odds feed to load from a specific book?

    • spreadsheetsports

I don’t have it set up to be customizable (since every feed could potentially have a completely different format), but if you’d like to make the changes yourself within Excel you definitely could. You could also go in to the “Backup Schedule” tab and put your own values in there manually if you don’t like the numbers we’re using by default.

      • Michael M.

Ok thanks for your help. I will try to make some adjustments to the lines. At the very least I need to remove the vig from the line to get a better picture.
